The Crystal Coast of North Carolina attracts vacationers looking for sandy white beaches, adventure and brilliant sunsets. Located in the middle of North Carolina coastline, this area is commonly referred to as the Crystal Coast and includes the barrier island of Bogue Banks, stretching almost twenty six miles.
The Bogue Banks region was originally home to Native Americans until the late eighteen hundreds when settlers came to the coast of North Carolina. The area became by and large a community for fishermen and mariners until real estate developers began to turn the area into a resort community.
The developers decided to try and maintain the quaint atmosphere of the area and unlike other beach vacation areas of the time, they marketed it toward families. Today the beautiful beaches along the Crystal Coast are well known for their family-oriented atmosphere.
If you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway or an extended family vacation everything you need can be found right here on the Crystal Coast.
